ANTONIO MININO directing Carol Carpenter's THE REAL FRANCO
1- Describe yourself in 3 words:
Awkward, Surreal, Believer.
2- What did you want to be when you grew up?
My Mom passed away when I was very young and all I wanted to be as a kid was an angel to chillax with her in Heaven. That and a Dolphin, which became a reality at the Newborn Festival when I got to read Daedalus the Dolphin in DARK WATER. I also wanted to be a dancer, a director, a writer. I would put on plays and make actors out of my G.I. Joe action figures (I don't think I ever played with them as soldiers)... I had a wild imagination growing up and what I'd like to call Dr. Doolittle Syndrome, I was certain I talked to the animals (and trees) and they talked back. I was forced and tricked to eating meat growing up, they were my friends! Mind you I didn't grow up in the country or a farm, these were all imaginary chickens and pigs etc that were my buddies. At six years old I knew I wanted to grow up to be a vegetarian but my Dad made sure I turned into a generic omnivore.
3- OK you are all grown up... What do you want to be when you grow up?
A vegetarian. No not really... I want to be a giver. I want to be a mentor. I've had so many mentors throughout my life from all over the world... I want to end my days selflessly giving back whether it be through my Art, my knowledge or just a smile.
